What you need to know before you start
MindNavigator helps neurodivergent young people with personal development. We are not a medical institution and do not provide diagnoses. These terms explain how our platform works and what your rights and obligations are.
For parents: If your child is under 18 years old, please read the sections on age and safety in particular. For children aged 6β11, you manage the account fully on behalf of your child.
For young people: We respect your privacy, but your parents have certain rights if you are under 16 years old.
1. Who we are and what these terms mean
1.1 About MindNavigator
- Company: MindNavigator (mindnavigator.io), based in the Netherlands (Chamber of Commerce: pending)
- What we do: An online platform for personal development of neurodivergent young people.
- What we do NOT do: Medical diagnoses, therapy, or treatments.
1.2 These terms are important
- By using our platform, you agree to these rules.
- Don't agree? Then you cannot use our platform.
- We sometimes use legal terms, but we try to explain everything as clearly as possible.
1.3 Important definitions
- Platform: Our website, app, and all services.
- Participant: Child or young person (6β18 years) using our tools. For children aged 6β11, the parent/guardian acts on behalf of the child.
- Coach: Coach or tutor offering services through our platform.
- You: The person using our platform.
2. Age and consent - This is important!
2.0 For children aged 6β11

- The parent/guardian creates and fully manages the account on behalf of the child.
- The child has no independent access to the platform.
- All decisions regarding data, payment, and coaching rest with the parent.
- No community features, direct messaging, or coach connections for the child.
- Parental consent (GDPR Art. 8 / Dutch UAVG Art. 16) is always required β there is no minimum age for participation provided the parent manages the account.
2.1 For young people aged 12β15

- Your parents must give permission for your account.
- Your parents pay for premium services.
- Your parents can view your progress (but only what's necessary).
- For coaching sessions, a parent must give permission.
2.2 For young people aged 16-17
π More freedom, but parents are still involved
- You can create your own account.
- You decide what you share with your parents.
- For paid services, we still need your parents' permission.
- You can book coaching sessions yourself (if your parents pay).
2.3 For adults (18+ years)
β Full independence
- You are fully responsible for your own account.
- You can pay yourself and make all decisions.
- No parental involvement required.
3. Account and platform usage
3.1 Creating an account

- Always fill in real, correct information.
- One account per person (no creating extra accounts).
- Keep your password secret and secure.
3.2 What are you NOT allowed to do?
π« Prohibited actions
- Misuse: Using the platform for purposes it wasn't designed for.
- Harming others: Bullying, threatening, or discriminating.
- Illegal: Anything against the law.
4. Our Marketplace - Coaching and Guidance
4.1 How does it work?
π€ We connect you with coaches
- We are the connection between you and coaches/tutors.
- Coaches work independently (not for MindNavigator).
- We ensure secure payments and communication.
4.2 Our coaches
β Carefully selected
- Screening: All coaches have relevant qualifications.
- Safety check: Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) required.
- Quality control: Regular evaluations and feedback.
5. Subscriptions and payments
5.1 Paid subscriptions

Current prices and plans are on our pricing page.
- Automatic renewal: Unless you cancel.
- Price changes: Announced 30 days in advance.
5.2 You can always cancel
πͺ Freedom to stop
- Up to 24 hours before renewal you can cancel via your account.
- No refund of already paid amounts (unless legally required).
5.3 Right of withdrawal
π 14-day cooling-off period
- New subscriptions: 14 days to change your mind and get your money back.
- Exception: This right expires if you actively use the service within those 14 days.
5.4 Removing children and subscription changes
π€ Subscription when removing a child
- Subscription remains unchanged: Removing a child account does not automatically adjust your subscription. You can manually downgrade your plan afterwards via the subscription page in your account.
- 30-day recovery period: After removal, a child's data is not immediately deleted. You have 30 days to restore the child account. After this period, all data is permanently and irreversibly deleted.
- Downgrade takes effect on next billing date: If you switch to a lower plan, the new price applies from your next billing date. No refund is given for the current billing period.
6. Medical disclaimer - THIS IS IMPORTANT!
6.1 What MindNavigator is NOT
β οΈ We are NOT a medical institution
- No diagnoses: We do not diagnose ADHD, autism, or other conditions.
- No therapy: We do not provide psychological treatment.
- No replacement: We do not replace professional help.
6.2 When do you need professional help?
π₯ See a professional for:
- Serious problems, anxiety, depression, or if you have major concerns.
- Your GP is always the first point of contact.
7. Privacy and security of your data
7.1 Your privacy is important
π We protect your data well
- We comply with GDPR legislation.
- All sensitive information is stored encrypted.
- Your personal data stays in the EU: Our database and application run on servers in the Netherlands (europe-west4).
- We NEVER sell your data to others.
- Read our complete Privacy Policy for all details about where and how we store your data.
7.2 Retention periods (GDPR Art. 5.1.e)
β±οΈ We don't retain data longer than needed
- Intake responses: 30 days after report generation, then automatically deleted.
- Assessment reports: As long as the account is active.
- Financial data: 7 years (statutory retention obligation).
- Technical logs: Maximum 90 days.

7.3 Your rights

- View, Correct, Delete: You can manage your data via your account or via privacy@mindnavigator.io.

8. Safety and reporting code
8.1 Our safety responsibility
π‘οΈ We ensure a safe environment
When we detect signs of unsafe situations (such as domestic violence, child abuse, or suicidal thoughts), we are legally obligated to follow the reporting code and involve professional help such as Safe Home (Veilig Thuis).
Safety takes precedence over privacy in acute situations.
9. Intellectual property
9.1 What belongs to MindNavigator

- All tools, tests, and educational content are ours and may not be copied or used commercially.
9.2 Your own content

- You remain the owner of what you write and share. You are also responsible for this.
10. Account termination
10.1 You terminate your account

- This can be done via your account settings.
- Your access stops and your data is deleted according to our privacy policy.
10.2 We terminate your account
β οΈ Only in serious cases
We can close your account for repeated or serious violation of the terms, illegal activities, or safety risks.
11. Liability
11.1 Our limitations

- We do not guarantee specific results.
- The services of external coaches fall under their own responsibility.
- Our liability is limited to direct damage due to gross negligence, with a maximum specified in the full terms.
12. Changes to these terms
12.1 How do we notify you of changes?
π¬ You will always be notified
- 30 days in advance you will receive an email for important changes.
- If you continue to use the platform, you agree to the new terms.
- Don't agree? You can cancel your account before the new terms take effect.
13. Disputes and contact
13.1 Resolving problems step by step
π€ We prefer to solve things together
- Step 1: Contact our customer service via support@mindnavigator.io.
- Step 2: Mediation or a disputes committee if we can't work it out together.
- Step 3: Court (last resort). Dutch law applies.
